About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

My son was admitted to the blossom unit in Craigavon area hospital following laboured breathing and low sats.

He was seen very quickly and calmly and all tests/x-rays were organised quickly.

All staff were very friendly and informative. There was a pull out bed for me to sleep beside my son's bed. Everyone made this worrying time a little less stressful for my son and I.

The only suggestion I would put forward is more appropriately sized cutlery for the little ones. My son had some difficulty eating his food with adult sized cutlery but this is obviously a very minor issue.

Hi 'Mum 2020', thank you for taking the time to leave us this lovely feedback. I am glad to hear your experience was positive and your son was seen and treated quickly within your service. As well as this, staff were friendly and kept you well informed.

The suggestion with regard to kid friendly cutlery is a great idea, I plan to speak with our ward managers and see if we could take this forward.

Hi

Just to give an update on the cutlery for children. I have been in contact with the catering manager here in CAH and child friendly cutlery has now been ordered for Blossom. We have also passed this information onto our colleagues in DHH.
