"Shocking Service!"

About: Fireclay Health

My husband discovered a lump on his testicle on Thursday evening, we rang the Doctors first thing Friday and were told we would have to wait for a telephone consultation on Monday morning between 08:30-12:30. The Doctor rang just after 11:00 when he was told they would not be able to see him until the following morning. I rang the Reception Service back to see if there were any emergency appointments for him to be seen today as after a weekend full of stress and worry we had wrongly assumed given the nature of the call that he would be seen for an examination on the same day. The Reception service is awful after being on hold for over 13 mins I got cut off, I rang again and waited another 7 mins to be told they only have 4 face to face appointments per day! Shocking! I appreciate we are in the middle of a pandemic but you would assume they would hold a limited number of appointments per day for cases such as this and they were also aware at the time of booking the telephone consultation what the issue was and that it would obviously require a face to face appointment. Why a face to face appointment could just not have been booked on Friday is beyond me - I really can't see what is the point of a telephone consultation for a lump on your testicle!
