"Mental health care"

About: Arndale Resource Centre Gartnavel Royal Hospital / Mental Health Riverside Resource Centre

(as a service user),

25 years ago I was sectioned and kept in hospital for 5 years. Whilst there I was diagnosed with schizophrenia and depression. I was treated with various medications and eventually put on an antipsychotic medication. On release from hospital I was put under the care of the CMHT in Glasgow. Every month I had to get monthly blood tests at riverside. 3 years ago I was taken off of the medication I was on because it attacked my immune system. Since then I have mentally deteriorated.

14 months ago I was sectioned again and was treated at Gartnavel royal hospital. Whilst there a lot of tests were done and I was closely observed by nursing staff. The results of my test showed that my schizophrenia was again under control but I was diagnosed as having complex PTSD as well. I was released back into the community again under the care of Riverside resource centre. I tried to discharge myself but I got upset and shouted at them and I am now banned from there.

Since then I was sectioned again and whilst in hospital I shouted at the psychiatrist and was later admitted into the IPCU ward. Whilst there I was restarted on the same antipsychotics as before and again released back to the community but this time under the care of the Arndale resource centre. I have been seen once by my new psychiatrist, a number of months ago, who took me off of the medication I was on and prescribed a small amount of another antipsychotic. I have recently been made aware that my new psychiatrist is telling people involved in my care that I may not have schizophrenia but instead that I have a personality disorder.

I do not agree with this diagnosis and feel my health is rapidly deteriorating.
