"Can't find out my results"

Had an ongoing issue with my back for 5 weeks now, and have been unable to physically see a doctor. While not ideal, this is more understandable the moment due to Covid; however the unnecessary delay in results is unacceptable. I was referred to Southmead hospital (who were very good) for an x-ray, and was told to contact the GP for the results. 5 days later, the results were in (receptionist confirmed this); however Leap Valley couldn't offer me an appointment for a full 10 days to tell me what the results showed. So that's 10 days I'm left sitting in limbo; 10 days of additional stress and worry; and most importantly - 10 days in which, if I knew there was nothing broken, I could progress things with a private physio. Instead I'm left not knowing the outcome of the x-ray, and unwilling to see a physio anyway, for fear that they might accidentally make it worse - should there be a problem on the x-ray that I don't yet know about. The whole situation is unacceptable, and I feel that my rehabilitation is being needlessly prolonged as a result.
