"Outpatient Appointment"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

I received a call from someone at Lincoln Hospital Urology Dept if they said who they were I didnt catch it so didn't know their status or reason for calling. I had previously be an outpatient at the Urology clinic and had recently had a brief inpatient stay at another hospital so I assume it was some sort of follow up.

The caller was brusque to the point of being rude and didn't want to hear what I had to say and he didn't give an explanation as to what my change of catheter regime was intended to achieve. They prescribed some additional medication via my GP and ended the call rather abruptly so I had no chance to ask questions.

Overall I was very disappointed and felt uninvolved in my care and treatment which is contrary to NHS policy and practice guidelines which I am very familiar with as a retired senior NHS employee.

Thank you for sharing your story with us and we would like to apologise for your recent experience with our urology team. The standard of care you have received falls short of the high standard of care the Trust aims for. We would gratefully appreciate it if you could contact us so we can share your experiences with the correct urology team.. If you are able to, can you please contact our PALS team either via PALS@ulh.nhs.uk or 01522 707071.
