"Gall bladder removal"

About: Borders General Hospital / Accident & Emergency Borders General Hospital / General Surgery (Ward 7)

(as the patient),

Arrived at A and E department BGH on Thursday morning 15th October distressed and in a lot of pain. I was quickly processed through triage by a very pleasant reassuring nurse. I was treated by a doctor Anastasia who was kind and understanding, a young male nurse was dashing around but always had time to reassure me and made me a cup of tea. The porter Brian escorted me to scan, so helpful and when you are in so much distress and pain it feels reassuring. I was admitted to ward 7 and had emergency surgery on Friday 16th October. Surgeon was informative friendly and allayed my fears. The staff on ward 7 were never too busy for you. Fantastic team work. I am beyond grateful to all those wonderful people involved in my care

Dear Moran

Thank you for using Care Opinion to let us know of your experiences of visiting the Emergency Department (ED) and Ward 7 at the Borders General Hospital.

Having suffered from gallbladder pain myself, I am well aware of how much pain you would have been in so it was great to hear that you were treated so well and received the required surgery quickly.

I will ensure your feedback is shared with the relevant staff.

I hope you are recovering well from your surgery, this is the easier part than the gallbladder pain itself!

Best wishes

Karen
