"Motorbike accident - was let go after being unconscious and not being able to feel one of my arms! "

Being involved in an accident as a pillion passenger, I had been thrown 10 meters over the road. I had lost my consciousness. Once gaining it back I was unable to feel my arm nor could I move it.

The police and paramedics discovered me later on only by noticing another helmet being on the ground meters away. I not only felt I was not listened to whilst speaking to two paramedics, but I was also accused of lying when telling them that I could not feel my arm. More so, whilst sat in shock, they kept asking the driver of a motorbike what would happen to the bike now, instead of carrying out OBS on myself.

Both paramedics then told me that I shouldn't go to A&E as the queue will be too long and I should not go! Hence, I was left at the scene unable to walk, in pain and in shock!

It is a lucky that I had no major injuries, yet, months later I am still suffering from pain and undergoing the diagnosis investigations and treatment. I believe it was an appalling duty of care! I believe paramedics should learn how to use the guidelines and learn that if the person has been involved in an accident such as this he/she should have been taken to the hospital straight away!
