I suddenly lost my sight in my right eye. I attended eye casualty after a two hour wait I was finally seen only to be told there was too much blood in my eye to see the retina, they didn't know what was happening, I was told to come back two days later on the Friday. On arrival Friday after a very worrying two days with no vision I was made to wait over two and a half hours whilst patients with appointments much later than mine which was 13.45 hours were seen before me.. I had to ask to be seen! On seeing the junior doctor I was again told no change, eye still bleeding I would have to wait until the following Thursday, another six days to see another Dr who only holds a clinic once a week on a Thursday!! Surely this could have been organised on the Wednesday!!!
I am still blind in my right eye, I feel like I've been brushed aside with what is surely a medical emergency with complete loss of sight in one eye!! Incidentally my job is an international truck driver will I will not be able to do if my sight loss becomes permanent!!
This situation is stressful, traumatising for myself and my family and I feel like it has not been dealt with correctly.
I wouldn't advise anyone with an eye emergency to attend Northampton!!!
