I had an ultrasound scan a couple of weeks ago and it has been the worst experience I’ve ever had I under the NHS. They are under a lot of pressure and I can’t thank them enough for what they have done so far during the pandemic, but I’m sorry, I should not be crying left in so much pain during an ultrasound and then being told it can’t be that sore that is totally unacceptable. I clearly stated when it got too painful and I kept getting told that if it was too sore we wouldn't be able to do it, and they wouldn’t be able to bring me back.
That is not the attitude I expect from a health professionals. To top it off the NHS are my corporate parent as I’m care experienced. As a health service worker I don’t expect to be crying in pain during an ultrasound and when I ask for a break during it I expect to be given a few minutes to let the pain to die down before continuing.
To top it off the other person in the room, who I think was a nurse, was honestly terrible. Just sitting on their phone, not socially distant from me which is unacceptable and when I mentioned it the attitude I got was shocking.
