Last week i had to bring my son to hospital as he had went over on his ankle. We saw a nurse who assessed him as needing an xray. Once brought round to xray we were brought into the xray room, i was told to come in for the xray because of my sons age. I was amazed to find the xray room had 7 xray staff!! All were wearing PPE but as I had to be brought into the room myself and 7 staff were crammed in behind a small partitioned corner of the room. During the xrays staff had to squeeze in and out past me. Other staff were talking about their lives outside of work. There was no social distancing between the 7 staff and myself.
Is this standard practice to have 7 staff members taking xrays for one patient?
I also do not think it appropriate to discuss personal matters in front of patients. Completely inappropriate.
Care from the nursing staff in casualty was fantastic However xray appears over staffed, no social distancing and not very professional.
