"Great care"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Accident and emergency North Devon District Hospital / Colorectal surgery & stoma care North Devon District Hospital / General medicine

(as the patient),

I came to the Emergency Department with abdominal pain and was admitted to AAA and then to Glossop Ward. I’m a member of staff as well and so I was aware of the pressures in the hospital and felt guilty taking up a bed when there are so few. The staff, including: ward clerks, porters, Sodexo staff, support workers, nurse associates, student nurses, nurses, doctors, radiology staff, discharge coordinator were all amazing. So kind, caring, compassionate and reassuring, they really put me at ease and I just wanted to say thank you to them all!

Dear Taltos5

Thank you for your lovely comments that I have relayed to all the teams involved in your care. As a staff member you are aware of how busy we are working at the moment and I am so glad we were able to care for you in the way I am sure that you care for others.

Rebecca Mortimer, Ward Manager on Glossop has also asked me to relay the following:

"Our MDT staff, nurses and all other staff are working so hard at the moment. We thank you for noticing and taking the time to send a 'thank you'. I will ensure it is passed to everyone at the next team meeting. "

We wish you well in your recovery.

Best wishes

Lisa
