This is a familiar story to many hundreds of Fife Health bd patients...the overall organisation and administration of the flu vaccine has been shambolic. The Sc for Health Scotland referred to "minor glitch might happen" 2 weeks after many complaints about problems accessing appointments. There is no doubt that Covid-19 requires a different approach to mass vaccination - therefore a new system also requires careful thought and planning. The system was not well thought out - it's almost a month since I 1st attempted to make contact, am now a hostage to fortune having to wait to hear back from the call centre...this has not been a minor glitch.
I am confident that there is sufficient vaccine, I have no confidence that the system will ensure I get an accessible location to attend an appointment - reading stories of some residents not getting appointment dates until December! Communication process was not organised, appointment system did not seem able to handle numbers of patients making phone calls to get appointments...all shambolic.
