"Gender transition and cancer treatment at the same time"

About: Chesterfield Royal Hospital / Clinical haematology Highly Specialist Services / Gender Identity Service (GIS) Royal Hallamshire Hospital / Clinical haematology

(as the patient),

5 years ago I decided I could not live as a man no more so I started the transformation from male to female It took me from 2015 to January 2018 To get seen by a gender clinic  I finally started  HRT treatment in the April 2018.

Unfortunately, at the beginning of June 2018 I got diagnosed With multiple myeloma. I started the treatment for the cancer in July 2018. I never gave up with my transition, I feel pushed to one side. I am now in remission doing very well I also Hope my gender transition is going OK too

I am pleased to hear that you are now in remission from your cancer but, am sorry that you feel that with regards to your gender transition, you feel has been pushed to one side. This is something that you may need to contact the organisation who is supporting you through the transition process.

Best wishes and kind regards.
