"16 week on and off stay in Ward 6"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Maternity unit

(as the patient),

I have experienced severe Hyperemesis in my first 16 weeks on pregnancy, results in being admitted to Ward 6 in FVRH over 13 times. These stays ranged from overnight to serval days. The staff were always kind, caring and compassionate in every staffing level. Especially the housekeepers who really kept my spirits up whilst in the ward, as I was not allowed visitors as this was during Lockdown. The nurses were all absolutely fabulous and keep me laughing too! I can not thank them enough.

Dear TLC1999

Thank you for such lovely feedback.

It sounds like you have had a really rough time. Hyperemesis can be so debilitating but I hope things are beginning to improve.

It is heartening to hear that all staff members made a very difficult situation a bit more bearable with their care and compassion especially with the additional COVID restrictions. A wee bit of cheer and laughter is always good medicine.

I have sent a copy of your posting to the Senior Charge Nurse to share with everyone. They will be delighted to read it.

I hope the remainder of your pregnancy is going well and the sickness has settled so that you can now enjoy being pregnant and look forward to the fun times that lie ahead.

With best wishes

Gail

Hello Gail,

Thank you so much for your response. The staff in Ward 6 are amazing. Real angels. I am glad my feedback can passed back to the team.

I can see that you are the Deputy Head of Midwifery for Forth Valley, I have a few concerns I have raised through another "story" on there Care Opinion of the appalling treatment I have received with the Maternity Triage Staff. I would love for you to read that and possibly get in touch with me, so we can discuss it further, if this allowed.

Thank you

Tanisha.
