I gave birth to my baby girl in Antrim area hospital in September by emergency c section. she was born 4 1/2 weeks premature needing help with breathing & feeding.
She was taken to Craigavon neonatal unit as there was no room for her at Antrim. I felt worried & upset as I stayed in Antrim and she was in Craigavon as it is over an hour car journey for us.
On our first day visiting our baby girl, we were greeted with friendly staff who instantly made us feel at ease. They made sure I was comfortable and explained to us clearly what our baby was being monitored for. The girls helped me learn to feed & change nappies & I feel so confident now.
We left the hospital each night feeling content that our daughter was in brilliant care, as upset as we felt also we knew she was in the best place. We really are so thankful to the whole team who work so hard & especially when we weren't there. They all deserve so much credit!
