Travelled from Moira as did not want to go near Craigavon. My son had fallen and hurt his wrist.
We arrived around 8pm. The corridor was full of people. It appears there is no waiting room in this hospital for the Minor injury department. What sort of unit does not have a waiting room? Standing in a cold narrow corridor does not feel very safe during a pandemic.
We booked in at 8. 05 pm and had our temperatures checked. We were then called in around 8. 20 pm, the nurse barely looked at my sons wrist, all the staff just seemed to be rushing about in a fluster. The nurse said my son needed an xray and but xray could not see anymore patients as there was just one staff member on taking xrays and they were too busy. Was given the option to come back the next day or go to Craigavon.
Very disappointing visit and wasted journey. Dungannon hospital needs to provide a waiting room for patients and also provide an xray service that is willing to see patients that need xray. Went to craigavon the next day, got xray and fortunately no breaks. I will not return and do not recommend the minor injury unit at this hospital.
"Very disappointing visit"
