About: The Mathews Practice Belgrave

9/10 of the reception staff are just rude. Not helpful except the odd one.

If I could name a doctors name I would. However sadly I cant, but many people that live around me will know exactly who it is as this surgery now how a reputation for being awful.

I've been spoken to like utter rubbish by the same doctor on many occasions who prides themselves on being a partner of the practice!!

Theyve said to me and I quote 'well what do you think you've got'. Theyve told me mum after having a hand operation and going for a sick note for work 'if you dont want to work I suggest you pack it in' (she still couldn't use her hand at this point and a previous doctor instructed her to come back for this note) and refused to give her one. My mum was insulted as it was the first time in her 40+ years working she had ever asked for a sick note.

Rang to ask about my new baby born June 20 As he was unsettled all day and night for weeks health visit advised me because he wasnt registered with the gp yet he could be seen under my name. Was told by reception this is untrue and a doctor cant give him anything anyway as he isnt registered however agreed to let me speak to a gp.

Spoke to a lovely gp who said yes sounds like reflux bring your register form in and we can prescribe. Which I did.

My new baby was seen by a health visitor who instructed me to get a prescription for him for reflux I called the surgery to be told someone would ring me. 5pm that evening still nothing. My health visitor rang and asked if I got it to which I replied no. (I didnt expect anything different from the surgery to be honest and voiced this to my health visitor.

She called the surgery spoke to the doctor who refused to write a prescription out until theyve spoken to me. (Absolutely fine). Finally got a phone call from the gp. Who told me within the first 3 minutes that my baby needed nothing he had got 'wind' I told the gp that this was my 3rd baby it isnt wind he cries all day long. And explained that the health visitor saw my child in person and said its definitely reflux.

Gp then patronised me over the phone, asking if I spoke to a gp b4 why I didnt get a prescription then. I told him the receptionist said I couldn't as explained above. He said that was rubbish and they can ( so why are the reception telling people wrong info?) I argued and said I was not happy that I'd spoken to a gp previous and health visitor in person and they both said the same, and this gp decided to go against 2 other professionals over the phone this gp had not even seen my son! Gp finally prescribed gaviscon.

My baby only 3/4 weeks later then stopped breathing. And ended up in SCH for 10 days. 4 of which in ICU&HDU.For reason un known. After many scenarios the hospital doctors gave a possibility that my baby could have choked on his reflux! They then doubled the amount the gps prescribed as he wasnt prescribed enough!

My family will be moving from this surgery as it is an awful practice.
