Since when did we become such an uncaring society??? 

Parkstone tower practice you should learn how to treat someone with a bit of kindness!

Today I had an appointment in the morning and while sat in reception waiting I just can't believe what I overheard. 

An elderly patient comes to the door walking stick etc and doors are locked - fair enough due to covid you sign in at the door and have a temperature check then they let you in. 

So a staff member asks how they can help, and the patient says they have been getting dizzy and having blackouts and that they almost got run over due to going dizzy crossing the road . They were asked if they have an appointment. The patient indicated that they are very hard of hearing, and they are obviously a bit confused, and they say they don't have an appointment but need to see someone. The staff member responds that they can't come in without an appointment and that someone will ahave to call them on the phone. Obviously still confused they ask if they should sit down there, but the response is that they need to leave and a doctor will call. When they then indicated that they don't have a phone, they were simply told that they couldn't be seen.

Now in my opinion any human person would have said take a seat here outside the surgery while I see what I can do, but no they sent this elderly person packing whilst obviously upset 😭

I understand rules are in place but this was an elderly person! What is the matter with people I honestly am so angry about this I made my feelings known to the staff member treating me who said they will pass on but even so this poor person might not have anyone or any modern means to go online and book an appointment or spend an hour on phone to make an appointment. It makes me sad. Let's hope nothing happened to this person on the way home.
