After being admitted as an emergency at The Royal (Whiston were refusing to see me for a further 4 weeks) I can honestly say the treatment I received was fantastic. After a couple of days of tests I was diagnosed with Crohns Disease and moved to the Gastro Unit. The doctors, nurses, auxilliary staff, cleaners - everyone was helpful and friendly and the ward was kept very clean. I can honestly say that this hospital saved my life as I had lost 2 stone in weight, needed two blood transfusions and up to 17 tablets a day to stabilise my condition. I have nothing but praise for this hospital and especially Dr Keith Leiper my consultant.
My only criticism was that there was not enough toilets and that they were unisex.
