"Outstanding care"

About: East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust / Emergency ambulance Pilgrim Hospital / Accident and emergency Pilgrim Hospital / Respiratory medicine

(as the patient),

One day in September 2020 I dialled 999 because I couldn't breathe properly within 10 minutes the ambulance crew was here and they where absolutely outstanding couldn't fault them what so ever they done there usual checks at my home address and decided to take me to boston pilgrim hospital to get further checks.

From my house all the way to the hospital they kept me calm and were very polite we even had a laugh and a joke when I arrived at the hospital. I was seen very quickly and efficiently they gave me the correct medication and took all appropriate precautions from the a&e department to the integrated assessment centre to the respiratory ward all staff where always there to help with any troubles I may of had.  They kept me in longer then I expected but they where just going there jobs so I couldn't fault this very well done.

To everyone at the pilgrim hospital in hospital for looking after me when I wasn't feeling myself I'm doing a lot better now and I have my breathing under control.

Dear Gaz123,

Thank you for taking the time to share your kind words with me. I'm glad to hear you are feeling much better now and I'm delighted to hear that our ambulance crews were able to keep you calm in what must have been a scary time for you.

If you are able, we would appreciate you sharing your comments with our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) team, with as much detail as you can (e.g. date, time and location), so that they might identify the crew who cared for you and share your words with them. You may contact them via telephone on 0333 012 4216 or email emas.pals@nhs.net.

Best wishes,
Richard Hunter
