"Fantastic Hospital"

Having experienced acute back pain for a number of years, I asked to be referred specifically to this hospital as my husband had been successfully treated by the surgeon in 2017. From my initial contact with the hospital to my recent discharge from their care, the treatment I have received has been exceptional. All members of staff were welcoming, caring and approachable; the reception team are wonderful and took a genuine interest in me, my family and any concerns I had. The Nursing team were amazing, providing an exceptional service where nothing was too much trouble, they went out of their way to help and make sure I was comfortable. The facilities and catering were beyond my expectation and being able to have a room to myself was wonderful. I underwent spinal fusion and decompression surgery and four months after I can honestly say, it has changed my life for the better. The surgeon listened to my concerns and took into account the impact the pain was having on both my personal and professional life. We were able to have open and honest conversations about what I wanted and how he could help. Every step of the journey was discussed in detail alleviating any concerns I had. On the day of the operation I met all involved in the surgery and was told exactly what would happen and the time scales involved which effectively put me at ease. The operation involved making a large incision in my lower back, the care and attention that was taken by the surgeon to minimise the scar is amazing, it is a very neat scar which has been commented upon by other professionals and family and friends. This really is a wonderful hospital with exceptional staff and an amazing surgeon, I can not thank them enough for the difference they have made and all they have done for me.
