"I felt safe in the doctors hands"

About: Pilgrim Hospital / Accident and emergency Pilgrim Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

Had major bowel surgery end August. Was initially on day case post op for 8 days. Went home only to be readmitted a week later with complications. Admitted onto 5A.

All staff, in a/e, on 5a, nurses, especially colorectal nurses, doctors, admin staff, house keepers, cleaners, were lovely.

It was a traumatic experience in the fact I was so poorly but I was very happy with all the care I received.

I am a nurse and I saw a different side, being the patient . It really does help when your not well and everyone is so caring. I felt safe in the doctors hands.

Thank you very much for your kind comments.

It is wonderful to hear that you were pleased with the excellent care you received from our teams in ED and 5A and you felt in very safe hands. I will share you comments with the staff.

Regards

Sharon
