"Good reliable service, sensitive compassionate…"

My 92yr old mum has received Riccall daily carer visits via her LA for nearly 2 years, and I think they do so really well. Given the current pandemic, I am particularly impressed that there has only been one day when they could not provide a service, and I appreciate the pressures they must be working under. Other than the essential physical tasks they complete, my mum's quality of life is so enhanced by the contact with and quality of staff who visit her: patient, kind, compassionate, person focussed and prepared to 'go the extra mile' if needed. From my mum's comments, all of the care staff sound positive and optimistic about life, and that's a lovely message for mum to receive: she is housebound, so her world view is very much influenced by those who visit her. During lockdown, my sister was the only family member visiting mum and I believe that without their input - the 'soft' interaction and social contact mum received, her mental and physical health would have deteriorated.
