"distressing communication breakdown"

About: Bedford Hospital South Wing

A locum referred me to the specialist as she told me i had a uterine prolapse that needed a stitch or a thread. The hospital staff reminding me of the appointment told me to take a urine sample. I attended today and was re-examined with a trainee present and told if a prolapse very early stage so no surgery needed but pelvic floor exercises and not to cough or lift anything heavy. I asked about the bowel incontinence situation and was told he was not that expert so after physiotherapy with pelvic exercise I would get referred to that expert if necessary but Covid 19 meant that it might take quite a while to arrange.

So why was I not given any leaflets 21 years ago after birth of my last child, or by the locum, or not referred to that specialist if that is who I actually needed to see?

Am I just meant to soil myself whenever whether in company or not meanwhile?

Why ask for a urine sample and then not take it at the hospital?

How is this helping me when I have gone for help and have a debilitating condition?

It is tricky going out as it is without this hanging over me every day. I am really distressed and although paid in all my life, no one communicates properly when I seek help. I am left to cope, working outdoors with male colleagues often on farms where facilities are absent or miles away.

How would the specialist feel if he were he in my shoes?
