"Brilliant hospital and staff"

About: Nottingham Woodthorpe Hospital

I chose the Woodthorpe for my NHS hysterectomy and repair and it was fab from start to finish. My consultant, the nurses, receptionists, anaesthetists, physios, secretaries, catering and cleaning staff were all professional, friendly and reassuring. They explained everything clearly, answered my questions, put me at ease and were there for me every step of the way. I thought I would feel alone and scared with no visitors during the pandemic but the staff made sure I was comfortable and were always on hand without being in the least obtrusive. Everything was spotlessly clean and the Covid protocols in place made it feel like a very safe environment. They were sensitive to my mood and were very caring and concerned when I was in a bit of pain after the op, and quick to make me more comfortable. Then when I started to feel better and regained my sense of humour they responded, which was both insightful and delightful. The room was lovely and so was the food. I really can’t speak highly enough of my experience at this hospital and am very grateful to everyone who made my stay so pleasant (I was dreading it and very nervous!). I had to travel a bit further than my local hospital as the waiting list was so long there, but I am so glad I chose the Woodthorpe. I was on Ward 1 and the staff there were absolutely wonderful. Thank you so much. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hospital to anyone; absolutely exemplary.
