"Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary ( DGRI)"

About: Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary

(as a relative),

Over the past few months I have been taking a relative to weekly appointments.

Understandably, I am not able to sit in the waiting room so I have been sitting in the main atrium.

When I first started the weekly visits, which was at the beginning of May the chairs & the tables in the atrium where cleaned regularly.

Additionally all chairs & tables in the canteen where cleaned almost all of the time.

For the last 2 months I have never seen one of the chairs or tables in the atrium being so much as wiped down.

Furthermore, there are a number of low tables at the far end of the atrium where on 3 separate occasions I have seen nursing staff with their feet flat on the table top.

Unfortunately the cleaning of the tables & chairs in the canteen has reduced radically - I have never seen the chairs being wiped down.

Given the nature of a hospital I would have expected stringent cleaning regimes - I have failed to see any such regime.

Even if the country was not facing a pandemic I would have hoped for higher cleaning standards ( the toilets are always clean & tidy).

The standards I have seen are far below what I would expect and I believe they would not pass a 'covid secure' level.
