"Why is it so difficult to see your doctor"

After contacting my G.P.Surgery about feeling unwell I was phoned later that morning by my Doctor who asked me to to arrange for an appointment to have an E.C.G..B.P.check and bloods taken and the following week I was to have another appointment to see him to review them and my medications.

A very nice Phlebotomist (care practitioner)carried out the tests very professionally. I was told me an Alert message had flagged up on the computer to make an appointment with my doctor at reception.

I asked the receptionist to make this appointment as advised, they looked at me as if I had asked to book for an appointment to the moon and quickly replied there was no diary made up for the following week for doctors. I would have to phone at the end of that week which I did.

On phoning I was very curtly told I could not specify what doctor to see and the doctor was away indefinitely and didn't know when they'd be back. I replied that could I see the other doctor who I see infrequently who had prescribed my medications was told they were also unavailable and that there was only one on call doctor available. After a lengthy phone call I was stressed and found it unbelievable in a practice with 7 doctors I could not be given the name of the doctor who would see me. As I am very seldom in the practice I wanted to see either of these 2 G.P s who were aware of my condition and was again very curtly told it was because of the Covid19 virus.

What is going on in the N.H.S surgeries at present when Patients are being put on hold and are being treated like this. I know the saying is "save our N.H.S." but what about our N.H.S. saving us.

It seems to be the same in most surgeries at the moment. Why is it so difficult to see your Doctor. It is easier to take your cat to the vet. 

What is going on in our surgeries? Maybe someone can answer this question not just for me but many others!
