"My treatment"

About: Exmouth Community Hospital

(as the patient),

I have had to travel to Wonford hospital to receive radiotherapy treatment due to the Covid pandemic.  The care has been a long process but it has gone alright - everything has been explained.

During the treatment they upset my prostrate and I had to have a catheter fitted.

I thought they would provide hospital transport but because of the virus instead I had to drive myself.  This has proved quite difficult with the catheter there are no public toilets on the journey and I had to use laybys  to stop to empty the bag - not a pleasant experience.

I originally had my pre-op at Exmouth which is only 20 miles away from my home. For my biopsy I had to travel to Turton hospital by taxi which was expensive at £80.
