I can't tell you how much your help in all departments meant to Mum and me. I cannot fault your care and support for both of us.
After Mum died I had a fall. Result was a total hip replacement. I'd never have believed it would happen to me. I'd never had surgery myself and was so scared because now I don't have parents and I'm all on my own.I was crying and so scared. The medical team were so good with me.
Having a bedpan was the most indignant thing. The nurses were just so lovely about it. All the staff were so supportive about taking away that indignity. Nurses and therapists worked hard with me. Morphine was a constant in my head. I got constipated too! I was allowed to go after 5 days.
Relief all round!! Was difficult but was good to be home. Mentally was the best thing. The staff had pushed me through pain to get there. I so thank them for the encouragement and understanding.
I know what they did for me. I will be eternally grateful. What I also saw was how they treated the other patients on my wards.
I'd had to see my Mum on similar wards. The standard kept by the staff was excellent. They were patient, caring and, loving. I will never have a bad thing said about the carers at East Surrey.
"Firstly my lovely Mum, then about me"
