"Positive first birth despite late transfer"

About: Lorn & Islands Hospital / Maternity care Royal Alexandra Hospital / Maternity care (Ward 31)

(as the patient),

Throughout my pregnancy the midwives in Oban were all very supportive, friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Ruth, Rosie and Shelia for the roles they played in my pregnancy and birth.

The birth was particularly positive, although it didn't go to plan ending in a late transfer to Paisley and c-section. The environment at Oban Hospital was so calm and relaxed - ideal for using our hypno birthing techniques. We had wanted to avoid going to Paisley, but the team there were also excellent. We always felt safe and well informed at every step.

Huge thanks to everyone who was involved!

Dear Hesperia

Congratulations on the birth of your baby.

Thank you for taking the time to write about your positive experience of the midwifery care you received in Oban and in Paisley.

I will make sure that your thanks are passed on to Ruth, Rosie and Shelia in Oban and let them know that you found them supportive, friendly and helpful.

I am sorry that things didn't quite work out as you had planned but great to hear that you felt safe and well informed.

Kind regards to you and your family,

Fiona Campbell
