"Poor discharge service"

About: St Thomas' Hospital (London)

I was an escort for my partner after his endoscopy,Nurse who was talking to us practically did not acknowledge my presence even being aware that after sedation my partner won’t remember much. After me asking questions she was turning her back on me in a very rude manner.I do work in health service myself and would never treat a patient like that. There is a reason for an escort to be present post sedation so maybe that Nurse should be reminded of those reasons. Generally he was happy with service but for me it was awful.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. Whilst we are pleased to hear that your partner was happy with his care, we are concerned to read about your experience. We are so sorry that the nurse was rude to you, this should not have happened. We will share this feedback with the team so that they can remind colleagues of the importance of being polite to partners as well as patients.
