My daughter attended today following a bike accident yesterday.
She went to the A&E reception where I dropped her, and got a fairly brusque reception that she needed to go to OPD6 instead (Minor Injuries).
In MIU, she says the two receptionists were lovely! The Nurse Practitioner was professional and thorough, as well as being very nice, and kind. No Xrays required as she’s been good with her safety. She was given advice to return if no better next week.
Sadly, she didn’t catch her name, so can’t say a personal thank you here.
Our main criticism is that despite being stopped outside A&E by a man giving directions and checking our reason for being there, he didn’t mention that MIU was in a separate place and perhaps we should’ve gone there instead. As a result, my daughter had a very long “hop” round the back of the building to get to the right place! If we’d been given the option of MIU, we’d have gone there directly first.
"Bike accident!"
