I was contacted about taking part in a study. the study involved giving a blood sample to see if I have produced antibodies to COVID-19, this sparked my interest as I am sure my wife had the symptoms however she received a negative test. also I was happy to take part in research to further the understanding of the disease. the paperwork sent seemed to imply I would be given the result that same day however when giving the sample I was told it would be around two weeks. at that time I felt disappointed however just accepted this as it was. it has now been over four weeks since I participated and gave my time and blood and still no result. as I wait I hear from colleagues that the time told for them to receive their result has been increasing and is now around 6 weeks wait.
My issue is that when studies like this are organised and the results are not forthcoming, it seems as if the participants are forgotten about once the blood sample has been taken, and no effort is being spent in providing long awaited results. more must be done to provide the results in a timely manner or give accurate waiting times for the results.
