Once taken into the treatment room we were met by welcoming two nurses who explained exactly what was to happen. The doctor came in soon after. Again she explained the procedure and I signed the consent form.
I was given a local anaesthetic and once this had taken effect the BCC was removed quickly and hopefully totally. The sample was to be sent to histology. The wound was dressed and full instructions on aftercare were given. I was also given dressings in case of any further bleeding.
The whole experience was positive, efficient and reassuring.
