"Appointment system and continuity of care is…"

Having been told by the GP that if my problem haven't become resolved in a week from a telephone call that I needed to make an appointment for an examination. However what they don't tell you is if you do not call at exactly 8 am you can not get an appointment and they will not book an appointment for another day. Not everyone can call at 8am, I wouldn't mind if I had to wait a few days for appointment but the fact that they won't even book one unless it's on that day is shocking. The care and continuity of service at this practice is a disgrace and needs looking into.

Thank you for taking the time for your feedback. I am sorry you are unhappy with our appointment system. There are a number of different ways to request an appointment currently. Someone can speak to reception to make an appointment in advance, or can look at the On-Line Access app, where we offer a certain percentage of our appointments. A more recent service that has started is the On-Line Consult where more information can be found on our website: www.lindenhallsurgery.co.uk. Naturally closer to the dates appointments will be taken up. We reserve a number of appointments to be booked on the day and so calling at 8am would give the highest chance to obtain an appointment for that day. However if these are all booked the patient's needs have been triggered by reception to urgently require help that day, then there is a duty doctor also to have an appointment with. We are continuing reflecting and trying to improve our service to the needs of our society, whilst trying to keep to guidelines amidst a new COVID19 pandemic that has brought with it many different challenges.
