"Seeming lack of care"

About: Basildon Hospital / Older people's healthcare

(as a friend),

Elderly neighbour was admitted in lockdown with mini-stroke, had nil contact with anyone with covid symptoms. He was admitted few times over April and may re mini stroke, eye focus issues, kept for couple of days each time, then sent home to local community, nil hospital support. Last time was given covid test, but sent home, son had to chase result, eventually told was positive, gentleman admitted again with increased confusion and now chest infection. He in hospital care, then local community hosp, then back to hospital, and now has died.

I do not think he should have been sent home to local community, nil result, neighbours doing all, shopping, sending in Sunday lunch, trying to help him.

I feel he must have contracted Covid in the hospital.

Fortunately nil neighbours contracted this.

I as a neighbour, and retired nurse am extremely annoyed, concerned re your lack of communication, care and more, and also feel shame that I was trained in this trust.

I am also very concerned and upset that as I live in this area, that my immediate family and myself will be subjected to your lack of care now and in the future

Thank you or not, for your seeming lack of care, I will be prepared for more challenges re my family care or lack of same!
