About: Medway Community Healthcare / Medway on Call Care (MedOCC)

(as a staff member),

I was given an appointment to come in and see an out of hours GP. When the doctor came he didn't introduce himself. He began to question me about the problem which is understandable. In the assessment he was palpating and asking questions and I said no pain there because you are barely palpating the affected area. So he continued assessing the leg and when it became painful he stopped. He tried to flex the said hip but it was painful so he stopped. Then he told me that I could get down from the bed. He did my obs then told me he's prescribing a stronger painkiller co-codamol and I should see my GP tomorrow if it persists. Said I should wait outside and he'll write and give me the prescription. This doctor didn't mention what he thought the problem could be. Pharmacies are closed on a Sunday and he didn't even give painkiller just to cover me for the night. That made me feel as though I had wasted my time going there and that he doesn't really know what he's doing so the best thing to do would be to get rid of me quickly and redirect me to my original GP 😔
