Our surgery is still shut and I tried to get an occasionally needed medication for a chronic condition. I tried getting it via the repeat prescription email but was told I'd have to have an appointment first. Then I discovered there is only phone access for two non connected hours per day. I went through the e-consultation which I found very difficult and was contacted to say I'd be phoned on a specific day by 6.30pm - on that day there was NO contact and no warning it wouldn't be happening or why it didn't happen. I didn't step foot out of my flat all day so I can't have missed it.
I went to the doctor precisely once last year that I remember (and I can't remember the month so guessed for the question this form required) but I too have found some of the reception staff faintly hostile and/or disinterested. There have been a couple of very sweet and helpful ladies, behind the desk, I've encountered since my time there but my heart just sinks if I think I need to go to the doctor.
