"My Endoscopy experience"

About: King's Mill Hospital / Colorectal surgery

(as a service user),

After being referred on the 2 week pathway I had initially a telephone consultation and then a referral for an endoscopy.

The appointment came through very quickly and I had a COVID-19 test beforehand and all the information and bowel preparation pack was supplied.

On the day I was understandably nervous but throughout the entire visit I was cared for in a kind, compassionate manner and treated with privacy and dignity. The staff understood my difficulties due to being hard of hearing with the COVID mask wearing making it harder for me, but they all ensured I heard them at all times.

I was given clear understanding of the process throughout And allowed to make informed choices about my treatment. I was given a copy of the report for my own records.
