"They will not let me make a educated decision on my treatment"

About: Crisis Mental Health / Single point of access team (SPA) & Emotional Wellbeing Service (EWS)

(as a service user),

I have been under Sheffield for about 2 years. This service is disgusting.

I have been begging for help. BEGGING! ! ! And yet I just get passed from pillar to post, from one "specialist" to another. Trialed so many different drugs I feel like a guinea pig. The one drug I want to try, they are not letting me and won't actually listen to me. They have failed me time and again but will not let me make an educated decision on my treatment. I am an NHS professional  so I have a good understanding of pharmacology, anatomy, physiology etc. But still they will not listen. I am at breaking point mentally, had to take time off work and I'm undergoing counselling (through work as there is a 2 year waiting list with yourselves apparently) I cannot go on like this and do not have one bit of support from you. Shambolic.

I’m sorry you feel you have had such a difficult experience using Mental Health Services and have not yet achieved the outcome you were hoping for. We are always keen to consider how we might be able to help people access the most appropriate treatment for their needs, and work with them to provide safe, effective healthcare.
