"Treatment at Medway hospital"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital / Accident and emergency Medway Maritime Hospital / Endocrinology

(as a service user),

Left traumatised by visit to this hospital I was taken by ambulance as I’ve adrenal insufficiency! Was mocked by nurse as I was carrying a overnight bag - was not Ill enough for A&E had to go to medoc gp - seen by doc this is emergency sent up to a ward - no room told to go to A&E where I would see a doctor ! Was told or shouted at By the sister in A&E to go to the back of the Queue - I had to wait outside the hospital I sat on the pavement and had to wait for the sprained ankles to be seen - eventually triaged then told it was ok they had a plan ! The plan was to stay in A&E all night and till lunchtime which I missed today on the ward - I was also left on a trolley with a drip I had to ask for a blanket by then I was crying out of pure tiredness!

Not one person asked how I was - I got tested for covid twice as the first nurse didn’t document anything - as a nurse of 42 years I’m shocked and horrified by my lack of care with an illness that I can die of - we’ve e mailed the chief executive of this trust and Matt Hancock.
