"General outpatients"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres

(as the patient),

I have been attending Hairmyres outpatients throughout this pandemic I have also attended other areas and other hospitals.

Hairmyres outpatients were the first to introduce masks and an entry protocol that other departments have now adopted from outpatients (as evidenced by the identical homemade signs).

They stop you at the door and ask you a series of questions and monitor how many people are in the department they are to be commended for this.

My only gripes are about social distancing & food.

How can staff social distance when there are sometimes 3 staff behind a small desk on the waiting area? I feel this needs to addressed.

When in Hairmyres I had macaroni cheese, it was of watery consistency and tasted funny was not fit for consumption.

But all in all the staff have been amazing every one !

Dear Hope98

I am sorry to hear you found the Macaroni cheese, watery during your admission to Hairmyres. Patients can aske the nursing staff for an alternative meal if they do not like or find it unsatisfactory. Staff can also ask the catering manager to attend the ward to discuss any concerns with patients.

I hope you are on the road to recovery.

Many Thanks

William
