"Diagnosed with PTSD following the birth of my daughter"

About: Inclusion Thurrock (Talking Therapies)

(as a service user),

When I first started my session I was very pessimistic. I felt that no one could ever get me out of the dark hole I was in.

My daughter and I both nearly lost our lives and I went blind for several months! Not only that I also worked in the place this all happened!

I came to Chrissie feeling hopeless and alone. My marriage was struggling my work life was struggling and I was in constant fear of everything little emotion I could possibly feel.

Chrissie was patient and kind and has given me the tools and advice I needed to make changes to free myself and I will be forever grateful

Dear Mrsslcp,

Thank you for sharing this with us. It certainly sounds like you went through a very difficult time when your daughter was born and these things can affect us so much when they involve ourselves, or the people we love.

When we experience things like you had, we do often begin to fear the emotions we feel around what we went through and how we can adjust as a result. Often, we think that we should not be feeling these emotions and this can be very difficult to manage.

However, I am sure Chrissie will be very pleased to hear that she has helped you make these changes to, as you say, free yourself from these fears.

As you mentioned, it is like you have been given the tools to maintain these techniques for the future, so I hope you are able to do so and continue seeing the benefits of all of your hard work.

Best wishes,

Adam
