I attended the day surgery unit at St. John’s hospital in July and would like to express my gratitude and praise to all the staff that looked after me.
When I arrived the cleaners were washing the floor and greeted us all with a good morning, seeing how clean the ward was reassuring at this time of COVID. The nursing staff were friendly, supportive and professional and nothing was too much bother and on returning to the ward fluids were offered regularly.
The surgeon came round followed by her assistant to let me know who would be in the operating theatre and then the anaesthetist, they were all easy to talk to and open to questions. Going to theatre was scary but all the staff I came across were understanding and reassuring.
I am a nurse and do not like being a patient but this was a very positive experience and all the staff involved should be made aware of what an excellent job they are doing. THANK YOU
