"Personality disorders ... No support in Leicester area"

About: The Bradgate Mental Health Unit

(as the patient),

The assessment at The Bradgate Unit was rushed, no compassion or kindness was shown for the total distress I was suffering. Just a cold, ignorant person. They didn't even let me finish what I was saying. When I did get antagonistic,- which is due the frustration of constant begging/pleading for what feels like forever, and the coldness I was shown. They wanted to end the assessment.

I have been asking for a care plan for over 2 years, I have been in the system for over 20 yrs, had definitive diagnosis's 10 years ago I have severe psychiatric disorders, do NOT abuse alcohol or drugs, but am chronically suicidal on a daily basis. I was sent home where I am alone, makes me wonder what services are doing to already fragile people.  I can honestly say that if it wasnt bor a friend message me I would have walked out in front of the a lorry.

I feel invisible and keep banging my head against a brick wall and that I have totally slipped through the net.

What do I need to do to get some help?

This is my second experience of The Bradgate unit.... 1/10

We are very concerned that you feel unhappy about your assessment at the Bradgate Unit. We have a commitment to provide quality care and have a dedicated team of staff. The attitudes you describe in your feedback do not reflect this and are certainly not what we would expect or accept from any of our staff.

If you would like to speak to someone further about the issues you have raised please call our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) by email to pals@leicspart.nhs.uk or by phone: 0116 2950830.

I went to the see the people that should be helping and supporting me, was told an assessment would be sent to my psychiatrist, and was told I have an appointment in 14 days time. I needed help there and then. I was ushered out of the room and left in reception crying...

It's disgusting to be treated like this, I'm very poorly and left all alone with no support... I can't see a way out-I ve been asking/ begging for help.

I've been in desperate need of urgent mental health support for months now, tried many different avenues, but keep getting fobbed off and left without any help or support....rang the Samaritans, I had the crisis team visit, social services said I don't fit the criteria for any support, even though on paper I'm classed as severely disabled!!! my g.p says Leicestershire is very underfunded for mental health support, my psychiatrist tells me I keep myself in a dependent state... I can't get a c.p.n or support worker due to government cuts, mental health matters let me down twice, Let's talk mental well being can't help, they stated I have complex mental health needs. I've emailed 3 different private psychotherapists, all are fully booked until September. I cannot see a way out.... I AM TRYING TO HELP MYSELF, but cannot do out alone.... I've had to resort to this forum as your my last hope... I don't want to be fobbed off by P.A.L.S
