my mother was admitted through a&e for what I now know was sepsis although at no point was this confirmed. A&E we brilliant and contacted me 3 times with updates, bloody marvellous but once she had left a&e for the wards I was never contacted wit updates on my mothers progress and was told on Wednesday 01.07 that they had been calling her next of kin, my father trying to give updates but no answer. there was no answer as my dad died almost 4 years ago. whilst I have no complaint about her treatment why when I had given the details to the paramedics that I was her next of kin, a&e had my details and called, the wards had different information. This was extremely upsetting no knowing what was going on and having to explain (whilst I was still upset over finding my mother on the floor of her home) that my dad had died no once, twice but 3 times before some lovely nurse updated your systems. mum was transferred from a&e to amu, to e8 and then d3 and no occasion was I informed, I had to find this all out for myself. I appreciate due to the current pandemic all that the nhs are going through, I have gladly stood on my doorstep and clapped every Thursday, but this error was simple and needn't have caused me further stress and upset of the not knowing what or where was going on
