"Treated with kindness and patience"

About: Outpatients Centre / Dermatology

(as the patient),

I had an appointment re a lesion on my scalp. This was cancelled due to lockdown, then re-scheduled for late July. Contact who phoned me was very pleasant and kind.

On Tuesday, I was seen as soon as I arrived in the department by a young doctor, whose name I didn't catch. He was kind and patient, explaining the different types of skin cancer likely affecting me. He took time to explain how the lesion could be removed and possible effect of not having it removed. I agreed to proceed.

I then met the team consisting of Claire, David and Barbara, who explained some more. I signed the consent form.

The lesion was removed and a graft applied. Injection of anesthetic was extremely painful. I was treated again with kindness and patience, particularly in their attitude to a less than patient patient!

Thank you for taking the time to leave such lovely feedback. It is great to hear you felt the team worked well and treated you in the way you should expect.

The anaesthetic is a trial, and you had double the discomfort, but is worth it in the end I hope you agree.

Thank you for noticing the team work involved in ensuring the department runs smoothly.

I have told everyone of your compliments ( the young doctor was Kai )

Hopefully the graft takes and you can carry on recovering, although these things can take some time.

Thanks again

David
