"Lentigo maligna"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Day Surgery Outpatients Centre / Dermatology

(as a service user),

Following a GP referral in March 2019 for a dark patch of skin on my face, i had a biopsy which confirmed lentigo maligna (pre cancerous area)

Surgery in October 2019, i was very nervous, consultant Mr Thomson was very reassuring and arranged sedation during surgery.

Sadly a repeat to remove the rest was required, originally planned for February 2020, postponed to March and again to end of June. The care i received was excellent, hopefully the problem area has all been removed. Hospital wards have less capacity due to Covid 19 requirements for social distancing so staff not so busy. They were able to meet my requirements for gluten free toast, as need to eat before being allowed home. Hopefully i wont need a return visit. Cant fault the service I received. Thank you

Hi Mrs Scottiedogz, Sorry to hear you required a further surgery but happy to hear all went well and that you were happy with the care that you received. I'll be sure to pass on your comments the my colleagues. Thank you again, take care.
