"Disrespectful staff"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a service user),

Got brought down to A&E after nearly passing out on the ward. This was after according to members of staff I was fitting my pupils were fixated my face had turned blue and my white were white aswell as profusely sweating. Once down in A&E when the nurse told staff what happened and said I was fitting a rude nurse replied ‘she ain’t fitting she’s just shaking’.

They then done a set of OBS on me took some details and gave me a wrist band. I could then see the A&E staff muttering to each other talking rudely about me saying that there isn’t anything wrong with me, yet they didn’t see what I was like on the ward.

After the doctor came an ECG was done which I don’t understand as never complained of any chest pain but it was done anyway. This came back clear asked me to then get out of the bed and sit in the chair. I said I’d try and attempt to get out of the bed with no help even though I had nearly collapsed about 45 minutes prior to this. A nurse then came to me and asked if I could walk back to my ward no escort given no nothing. They done absolutely nothing for me even when I was told by a critical care nurse that I needed to have a CT head.

I have since contacted my GP and has made a referral to the neurologist for a EEG and he was absolutely appalled that nothing more was done for me. If any abnormalities come back that could of been caught in my trip to A&E then I will be taking this further as I thought I was treated disgustingly.
