I have been attending on-line groups during this very difficult time and have found them to be a great help in my recovery. Being engaged with Inclusion has been easy to access which im very grateful for as im not very good with technology, but if I can do it anyone can and I would encourage anyone to just have a go. Its a little scary at first but just being able to see and engage with the groups has been amazing for me. ACT is run on Tuesday mornings and I attend Phoenix group on Thursday afternoons.
There is also a quiz ever other Friday, compered by the very lovely Alex from the Gosport hub, its great fun, challenging and after all groups I have a real sense of empowerment and positivity. I am also attending a service users rep course, which is excellent in giving service users a voice, the information shared from across the country is informative and valuable to all in recovery. I have really enjoyed ACT group, run by Becky, its fun and makes a real difference to how I deal with emotions and uncertainty in this lockdown period. Simon, my key worker has been engaging with me often as I am going through a very difficult time with regards to my family, talking and listening to me and supporting me through my bad days.
By keeping in touch, talking, reaching out, I have been able to get through some really heartbreaking issues without pressing THAT BUTTON, but it sits there just waiting....it will stay unpressed so long as I work at my recovery and my support is in place.
Anyone who is struggling please engage with your keyworker, someone from Gosport Inclusion will be there for you. Join our online groups and get the support you need during this difficult time. Thank you to all the staff and service users who are keeping me well.
